Hearts Fall

The sudden light across the sky was followed by a bang. The rock from heaven crashed into the mountainside with a roar that was heard for miles around.

The curious went there. Thirsted after riches, after knowledge, after glory. However, their thirst was quenched by the water.

The stone had torn open a hole in the mountain side and a stream was now flowing out of the pit. A river from the underworld that formed a new glittering waterfall over the edge of the cliff.

The prophets said the stone was the heart of a dying god. A religious zeal rose in their bodies. The presence of a god in our country. A god's last gift of water to our poor souls.

It was called Heart Falls and people came from afar to see.
